Welcome to the other side of labor & delivery!
No matter what your experience, everyone will receive a benefit(s) from these medicinal plant and tree essences. I've created this list of remedies you may find helpful when recuperating from creating and birthing another human being (or two, or three). These also make a thoughtful "mom" gift for a friend or family member who has recently gone through L & D. After the baby is born, it is ALL about the baby and the Mom is kind of forgotten in a sense. A gift for Mom on her healing journey will be very much appreciated and go a long way, trust me!

Becoming a parent I expected a lot of things. I expected to fall madly in love with a human that I co-created. I expected there to be sleepless nights. I expected there to be a lot of positive memories made with my new family dynamic. What I didn't expect was all the opinions, judgements, and snide comments. Some of these, unfortunately, are made intentionally, but many are made unintentionally. What's even more unfortunate is that a lot of these comments and opinions are made by the people closest to us. It starts from the beginning...
Are you going to find out the gender?
Are you going to have a natural birth?
What are you going to name your baby?
Are you going back to work after the baby is born?
Are you planning to breastfeed?
Does your baby sleep?
No matter what your answer is, you are being judged. Becoming a parent awakens an inner strength you didn't know existed. Just like anything, this strength is flawed and there are tears and holes where some of these comments and judgments seep through and get to you. How do you know which comments to let slide and which ones to stand up for? This will differ for each parent depending on your core values, priorities, and yes, the amount of sleep you were lucky enough to endure the night before. For me, it's hard not to take each comment to heart. I mean, we are talking about the health and wellbeing of your child; the same child you would risk your life for without thinking twice. I think this is something that every parent struggles with in their own way and I don't know all the answers, but it's something that should be acknowledged. My advise is to listen to your gut and before responding, take a deep breath. There are millions of parents out there, but no one is in your exact shoes. Take pride in your choices as a parent and know you are making the best decisions for you and your family.
I am still so honored and blessed to have gone through the health coach program at IIN. I first heard of this school over 6 years ago while interning at a Boston Hospital. My former Boss (current friend and mentor) was enrolled and toward the end of the curriculum. I remember sitting in her office for 2 hours talking about the program, IIN, and it's concepts- I was hooked! For 5 years I contemplated enrolling, but it never seemed like the right time. It is a huge financial and time commitment.
First, we had just bought a house and were planning a wedding so I didn't feel comfortable swinging it financially. After I got married I felt like I had to decide between IIN and going to graduate school- I chose graduate school. Then, just before completing my Masters degree, I received an email from IIN and it happened to be on Cyber Monday. It was blinking and flashing and electronic confetti flooded my screen; they were offering me a 50% off tuition coupon. I had heard of this discount, but never seen it available. My adrenalin started pumping through my body and I rushed into my boss' office. She had known I was interested in the program and suggested that the agency might be able to contribute to the tuition cost. She could see my excitement and confirmed that yes, the agency would contribute to HALF of the tuition- AHHH, this is the sign I had been looking for. NOW was the time to make the IIN commitment. I called the school and told them I would like to enroll. Even she was surprised to hear I received a 50% off tuition coupon since they are only released to a select few once every 4 years. She could also see that I spoke with them 4 years prior inquiring about the program. It was so easy to sign up and the best part was that I could start whenever I wanted and it is all online!
Part of me wishes I had taken advantage sooner, but I know it wasn't the right time for me. I think I'm more appreciative of the information and have a better idea of how I plan to use this information for my blog, health coach business, and personal life. It's true what they say, things happen for a reason! If you are contemplating enrolling in IIN, don't hesitate to reach out to me.
Still not sure what this is all about? Check out this sample class!
